The Summer of Pride is About to Begin!
Ontario kicks pride off, with celebrations throughout the month of June, culminating with the Toronto Pride Parade. This great event has a 53-year history dating back to 1970, when members of the LGBTQ+ community organized the first Toronto Pride gathering. From that day on, the Toronto Pride Parade significantly increased in popularity.
At Boss Promotions, pride is not about generating the most sales or the most clicks. We believe in spreading a message in the best way possible. We believe that diversity and inclusion is an organizational key therefore, creating the best possible work environment. Not to mention that 67.5% of LGBTQ+ members state that they have heard slurs and negative comments regarding their sexuality? Therefore, we are doing our part to make sure that this never happens in the workplace by actively enforcing and celebrating various anti-discrimination policies to create a safe and judgement free workplace. At Boss Promotions we believe in an inclusive and diverse community, making for a friendly and welcome work environment.
Be Proud of Who You Are!
To highlight the celebrations and allyship, pride products have also increased in popularity. From bags to shirts to costumes, pride products are the centerpiece of the city for the month of June. Lighting up the city with the vibrant colours of the pride flag is something that nearly every shop, restaurant, house, building and more in the city will be doing this summer. Here are just a few of the many Boss products that have featured in past pride parades, street programs and online shops. Market your business by putting your logo on a pride product this summer.
Finally, pride is a celebration of the progress that society has made regarding LGBTQ+ rights and a commitment to four core values: freedom, love, expression and understanding. Express your love and support through what you wear and the items you have, but more importantly: the core values you carry. Even small and subtle gestures such as bags and fans are enough to show your support for the pride community. Ultimately, all it takes is a small gesture to make someone’s day.
